Actor and comedian Lil JJ speaks with the Recorder about his part in the celebrity basketball game.
Is this your first celebrity basketball game?
Lil JJ Lewis: No I pretty much do a lot of celebrity games for charities and stuff just to connect with my peers and let the fans and everybody just see us having a good time together.
Why do you feel it’s important to be part of something like this?
IBE anyways, you’ve got Amp Harris and Reggie Wayne, just to be in the mix of it, he says it’s been going on for 18 years and I’m only 22 so I’m happy to even be a pick. I feel like with all the kids coming up, they get a chance to hear our messages. They get the chance to see us all together not on any violence stuff. There’s no attitude, there’s no entourages, and it’s just us and them and its fun.
What upcoming things can we expect to see from you in the future?
Right now I just finished the second season for the Ricky Smiley show. I’m back on the stage doing comedy, touring everywhere, music, writing, directing – everything. I’m in school so it’s a work in process right now.
