IPS honors Dr. King

This week, Educator Barnes will be back with another episode of EdGems. EdGems gives viewers the opportunity to learn from educational leaders and educational stakeholders with the goal of improving the educational landscape in Indianapolis and across the state of Indiana.

Episode 3 focuses on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) for suburban Black students. Many times when DEI and anti-racism work is discussed, the focus is on urban schools or schools where the majority of students are of color. What about schools where Black students are a small percentage of the student population?

Suburbans districts need to be part of the conversation. During this episode, viewers will hear directly from Black students from two suburban districts and an equity and inclusion expert.
