SUMMARY:American Piano Awards finalist Elliot Wuu performs with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:Join the American Piano Awards Premiere Series at the Indiana History Center on Jan 26\, 2025\, 3:30 – 5:30pm for the 4th of 5 finalists. The APA’s Premiere Series is their “semi finals” of their 2025 classical season. \nElliot Wuu\, 24\, is a Young Steinway Artist\, received the 2018 Gilmore Young Artist award\, and is a winner of the Salon de Virtuosi 2021 Career Grant. His solo program contrasts the evocative impressionism of Debussy’s Suite Bergamasque with Schubert’s Romantic “Wanderer.” \nHe will be joined by the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra after intermission to perform Chopin’s first Piano Concerto\, an emotional work composed by a 20 year old preparing to flee his native Poland. \nBorn in 1999 in Fremont\, CA\, Elliot began piano at age six and made his debut at age 16 with the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra playing Rachmaninoff’s “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini.” Elliot currently resides in New York City\, where he recently finished his BM and MM degrees at The Juilliard School.
