SUMMARY:Martin University Community Access Fair
DESCRIPTION:The National Center for Racial Equity and Inclusion (NCREI) at Martin University will host its Fourth Annual Access Fair\, an event aimed at fostering partnerships and disrupting systemic barriers that have long affected marginalized communities. The event will take place on Saturday\, October 19\, 2024 from 111:00 AM to 3:00 PM on campus at 2186 North Sherman Drive\, Indianapolis\, IN 46218.. \nThe Access Fair is designed to connect the community with companies\, organizations\, and allies committed to combating systemic issues that persist in areas such as education\, housing\, criminal justice\, employment\, and health. With a focus on empowering individuals and families\, the event will offer direct access to resources\, services\, and support in these key areas. \nThis year\, attendees can also take advantage of on-site resume writing workshops\, free haircuts\, and martial arts training\, further enhancing the opportunities for personal and professional growth. These additions aim to provide practical support that helps community members build confidence and readiness in their daily lives. \n“The Access Fair aligns with Martin University’s mission to serve as a catalyst for change\,” said Dr. Sean Huddleston\, President and CEO of Martin University. “By addressing systemic barriers and fostering partnerships\, we’re helping to bridge the gap between the community and the resources they need to thrive. This event is an important step in continuing our efforts to drive equity and inclusion in Indianapolis and beyond.” \nAttendees will have the opportunity to engage with experts and advocates who are dedicated to addressing systemic challenges.
