By JEREMY REUBEN, WFYIThe Indiana-based company%u00a0MakeMyMove%u00a0will help run a program that offers $5,000 in incentives to remote workers who relocate to specific Central Indiana counties.The incentives include music and sports experiences, co-working and networking perks and fitness passes. They%u2019ll be available for remote workers moving to Marion, Hamilton, Hancock, Shelby, Johnson, Morgan, Hendricks, Boone, Madison, Brown and Putnam counties.Joe Pellman, vice president of talent and image for Indy Chamber, said part of the impetus for the program is the limited way people think about Indiana.%u201cThe unfortunate reality is, for a lot of individuals they%u2019re either not thinking about Indy or their impression of Indy is maybe only one or two things,%u201d said Pellman. %u201cCould be racing, could be sports. It%u2019s likely one of those two.%u201dThe incentive program aims to direct new transplants toward activities and groups that show off what Central Indiana has to offer.%u201cWe can leverage that beyond simple tourism into the residential experience,%u201d Pellman said. %u201cAnd we can give that kind of interest and effort into how we attract and retain our current or future neighbors.%u201dTawnya Mosgrove took advantage of the program when she decided to relocate from the Chicago area.%u201cThis community is investing in its people,%u201d Mosgrove said. %u201cSo they%u2019re willing to say, %u2018Hey, look at what we have to offer. The team accompanies Morgan State University%u2019s %u2018Magnificent Marching Machine,%u2019 the first marching band from an HBCU to perform at the 80th commemorative D-Day anniversary in Normandy, France.The visitors, Miles College, also sustained a historic 2024 season, going 10-3, securing the Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title and pushing their way into the second round of the Division II college playoffs.Head coach of Miles College Chris Goode was drafted to the NFL in 1987 and played his entire career with the Indianapolis Colts. The 2024 season was the first time in the school%u2019s history that its football team finished the season in the national rankings. Similar to Morgan State University, Miles College has an award-winning band, the Miles College %u2018Purple Marching Machine,%u2019 making the halftime show at this year%u2019s Circle City Classic even more worthwhile.Tickets will be available on April 21.
