Association worked with advocates across the state to announce its policy agenda for the 2025 legislative session, prioritizing initiatives focused on improving the health and well-being of all Hoosiers.During the legislative session, the agenda will focus on six key initiatives:Ensuring schools establish a%u00a0cardiac emergency response plan.%u00a0Adding%u00a0Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center%u00a0to the Stroke Center Designation Code.%u00a0Creating a%u00a0state-wide stroke registry%u00a0using the Association%u2019s Get With The Guidelines.%u00a0Raising the%u00a0tobacco tax%u00a0from $0.99 to $2 and creating tax%u00a0parity%u00a0for vape, heated tobacco and other alternatives.Adding healthy nutrition and physical activity standards as part of the licensing requirement for%u00a0Early Childhood Education Centers.Defending against anticipated%u00a0Medicaid cuts%u00a0and making sure that expansion, post-partum care and coverage for self-monitored blood pressure remains.%u201cThe American Heart Association urges Indiana lawmakers to prioritize these essential policies to improve the health of all Hoosiers.
