The Pocket Square Project, an Indianapolis-based fashion-oriented initiative to improve the lives of children with HIV, will host Celebration in Red: For World AIDS Day on Tuesday, December 1 from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. at the Biltwell Event Center (950 S. White River Pkwy. W. Dr.) in Indianapolis. The event will take place as part of World AIDS Day, which unites the global community in the fight against HIV each year on December 1.
Celebration in Red will feature live entertainment from local artists, the debut of a limited edition, red line of fashion accessories (pocket squares, bow ties, and jewelry), a silent auction, photo exhibition, and food and drinks. Guests are encouraged to wear red, the well-recognized color of HIV awareness. A portion of event proceeds will benefit support services for HIV-infected children in Kenya.
Tickets are $25 and are on sale now at http://pocket-square-project.ticketleap.com/wad2015/.
āCelebration in Red offers our community an entertaining way to honor those living with HIV and directly support HIV-infected children,ā said Dr. Rachel Vreeman, Director of Research for the Indiana University Center for Global Health and Executive Director of The Pocket Square Project. āThis initiative brings together globally minded citizens to help children living with HIV know that this infection is not the end of their story. We are able to provide counseling and support services, in addition to the medicines needed to live with HIV.ā
