Conference in Indy to focus on issues facing women executives, entrepreneurs

For decades, women in leadership roles — or those simply striving to achieve increasing levels of success — have been told they can’t “have it all,” they aren’t superwoman or they need to choose what’s most important to them. The women behind the 2015 Flourish Conference for Women in Leadership have found that it is possible for women not only to be successful but also to grow luxuriantly and thrive across the most essential areas of their lives.

On Friday, Oct. 9, hundreds of powerful women executives will gather at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis to learn the science of flourishing so they can attain the highest levels of excellence, increasing success, influence and impact. Hosted by Flourish Leadership, LLC, the annual event brings together the region’s top female leaders to discuss pertinent issues facing women executives and entrepreneurs while participating in workshops and speaker sessions. Conference host and Flourish founder Dr. Rachel Talton is a renowned leadership and brand expert, entrepreneur, and executive coach.

“Conferences like Flourish are a necessary way to provide female leaders a safe space to be inspired, to grow, to collaborate, and to strategize,” said Talton. “Being a successful leader isn’t an easy task in today’s dynamic environment. We work hard to integrate our successful careers, lives and relationships. And we do so imperfectly at times. The Flourish conference provides women leaders inspiration from some of the top trailblazers in their fields; customized strategies for their own growth — in career, business and life; and engagement with the most dynamic women in the region.”

Talton has partnered with globally-recognized leaders who can personally and professionally inspire attendees. Scheduled speakers include Lori Wilson, Anchor & Reporter, WISH-TV; Mandy Selke and Carly Swift, co-founders of Just Pop In!; Ann Murtlow, CEO of United Way Central Indiana; Dr. Lisa E. Harris, M.D., CEO of Eskanazi Health; and Amy Hilliard, President, Fashion Fair Cosmetics.

The Flourish Conference for Women in Leadership will also engage women leaders in two other cities in 2015: Washington, D.C., on Sept. 25 and Cleveland on Oct. 31. Dr. Talton expertly designed Flourish to provide skill-building tools and resources to top female executives and entrepreneurs. Content-rich workshops provide participants key strategies for harnessing the power of inspired, yet rigorous, strategies for transformation.

“When a woman decides to prioritize what ‘having it all’ means to her and then commits and is accountable to that vision, the results are life-changing,” said Talton. “When you focus on self-care, there’s a positive impact on relationships, which yields a positive impact on work, and provides the spiritual clarity that many often seek. The process is additive and recursive; it’s not a zero-sum game.”

Attendees at the 2015 Flourish Conference for Women in Leadership will receive a personal assessment highlighting leadership strengths and areas for growth, create a customized Flourish Plan for the next 100 days, collaborate with like-minded women, change unwanted habits by creating approaches for revised leadership behaviors, and experience expert facilitation, guidance and personal attention.
