More by this author

On March 19, from 2-3:15 p.m., there will be an Immigrant and Refugee Information Session in McFarland Hall at Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 N. Meridian St.  The session will be preceded by an optional Interfaith Prayer Session from 1:30-2 p.m.

This event is intended to raise awareness of some of the obstacles facing refugees coming into this country, as well as to help dispel some of the common misconceptions concerning them.  This event will consist of speakers from multiple organizations and backgrounds to help the audience relate to the obstacles that refugees face. There will be a Q&A panel session at the end of the event. The interfaith prayer service will consist of Christian, Jewish and Muslim religious leaders guiding attendees in interfaith prayer.

Partners in this event include Second Presbyterian Church, the Center for Interfaith Cooperation, Big Car Collaborative, the Immigrant Welcome Center, Islamic Society of North America, Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation and Catholic Charities.

This event is free and open to the public. It is being organized by an Immigrant and Refugee Service Corps member. The Immigrant and Refugee Service Corps is part of the Center for Interfaith Cooperation. The program strives to cultivate a healthier and more welcoming Indianapolis with AmeriCorps members serving at social service agencies, religious communities and other nonprofits.
