Men respond to women’s perception of the "perfect" woman

In last week’s Recorder, Indianapolis women voiced their opinion of what the perfect woman is in response to a survey conducted by WhatsYourPrice.com.

The survey revealed that the perfect woman, according to Indianapolis males, is a brunette with hazel eyes, a social drinker who doesn’t smoke and has earned a master’s degree. Overall, Indianapolis’ males are willing to spend an average of $246.70 to go on a first date with the perfect woman.

Responses from women included the belief that a woman’s real worth comes from her passion, purpose, how she treats others and her relationship with Christ.

This week the Recorder conducted its own survey asking men what attributes makes a good woman, and what will cause them to commit. See responses below.

“There will never be a perfect woman. But as far as commitment, definitely a woman who can accept what men are from the inside, not the outside. Looks, money or finer things do not bring happiness, it comes from the heart and accepting men for who they are.” John Hockersmith, 33.

“The perfect woman is fiercely independent, confident, spiritually grounded, and knows that a man in her life simply compliments her, and does not make her who she is. There you have it.” Danny Bridges

“Confidence that is not overpowering, a good sense of humor, smart, easy going and laid back. Not being selfish is a bonus. She should be a good person that has a kind heart.” Eric Mitchell, 23.

“The perfect woman is the woman who is at peace with herself. One who realizes that her past has actually made her the right mate for you. She does not hold onto past hurts or expect the new man in her life to pay for them.” Jerome Davis, 39.

“Honesty! I just want her to always be honest and for us to be able to tell each other everything.” Jake Handwork, 19.

“The perfect woman has old fashioned biblical beliefs. She thinks it’s OK for the man to take care of her and be the provider. She raises the kids (instead of a baby sitter) and makes life fun. She enjoys the little things, doesn’t stress about money and spends time with the family.” Mitch Lee, 54.

“No one is perfect, but a strong woman first and foremost is committed to God, seeks to live out his will and is equally yoked. She has your back, supports your dreams, loves you through your imperfections, and loves you as much as she loves herself. She understands what she was supposed to learn from the past, but does not allow it to restrict her future. Lastly, she seeks a healthy balance in life.” Andre Wilson, 29
