Indianapolis resident Jocelyn-Tandy Adande is going against the Republican slate and running for Marion County clerk.
As a graduate of Crispus Attucks High School, Indiana University and a Republican Precinct Committeeman and 40 years of combined business, community and political experience, Adande believes she is the best candidate for the position.

Professional background: A bonded NNA Certified Signing and Background-Screened Notary Signing Agent and J. E. Tandy Consulting Services specializing in proposal writing, campaign strategies and fundraising.
Past political experience: Minority Affairs Advisor to county sheriff, mayoral, U.S. senatorial and presidential candidates; campaign manager and administrative assistant to Indiana clerk of the Supreme, Appellate and Tax Courts, campaign coordinator, press secretary, volunteer recruiter, deputy voter registrar, NAACP lobbyist, ward chairman, vice ward chairman, precinct committeeman, election commissioner, election inspector and trainer, precinct election board clerk, precinct judge, get-out-the vote coordinator, voter protection volunteer, poll watcher, elected state delegate, alternate national delegate, political columnist, bylaws and, and literature designer.
Platform: “When elected, I will work to improve and streamline the process the clerk uses to collect child support payments from responsible dads and moms who’re paying, and distribute the funds to custodial parents who need it for their children.
“I support extended early voting in locations in each of the nine townships. The voting process should be easier and more convenient to Marion County voters to encourage increased voter participation in the election process, including longer hours on Election Day. The integrity of the voting process must be maintained by all political parties.
“I am a veteran of local, state and national politics, who was once a paid staff member for several major Democrat officeholders but switched to the Republican Party just like former President Ronald Reagan. I am a true conservative.”
