Indianapolis, Ind. — The Precedent Companies will build a 60,577 square foot food grade facility on 6.8 acres for Mays Chemical in the Precedent South Business Center in Greenwood.
The new facility will allow Mays to combine two older facilities in Marion County into one plant that has the latest in technologies for the highly efficient production of several product lines.
Mays is a growing leader in chemical blending and packaging and serves many industry segments including the food and pharmaceutical industries, said Larry Siegler, Chief Operating Officer for the Precedent Companies. From the beginning we believed our companies would make a great team. We have worked very hard to provide them with a building design that matches their aggressive growth goals.
The $5 million project is estimated to be completed in November but Mays will start moving in June. Mays signed a 15-year lease with Precedent for the Johnson County location and will retain its corporate office at 71st and Binford Boulevard in Marion County.
