JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Renowned for hearty, oversized portions and piping hot subs, Firehouse Subs announces plans for extensive expansion in Indianapolis, with the first store opening at the end of summer and eventually a total of 28 restaurants.
With more than 360 locations, the chain is famous for premium meats and cheeses piled high atop toasted sub rolls served “Fully Involved®” with fresh produce. The authentic firehouse setting is based on the founders’ 200 years of firefighting heritage.
“With a Midwest appreciation for fresh foods and large portions, Indianapolis is the perfect place for Firehouse Subs,” said Don Fox, COO of Firehouse of America, LLC, the company’s franchising division. “Our brand is thriving and we are thrilled to bring the same quality and authentic atmosphere to Indianapolis. In addition, the local economic impact is something we’re excited about as Firehouse Subs will employ 450 people after all 28 stores are built.”
Setting the town ablaze with new locations is Area Representative (AR) and veteran restaurateur Mark Adams. As Area Representative to the emerging territory, Adams’ responsibilities include selling franchises and providing the overall marketing and operational support to the franchisees, who oversee their own day-to-day operations. This entrepreneurial model provides a caliber of support and continuity of relationships that cannot be achieved through traditional models.
With more than 30 years in the restaurant business, Adams’ extensive resume includes area director of operations and training in a 262-store region for McDonald’s, a position he held until he bought his own McDonald’s franchise. He was most recently area supervisor for Fazoli’s Restaurants.
Firehouse Subs features Specialty Subs such as the no. 1 selling Hook & Ladder® and the New York Steamer®, both named after fire trucks. The Hook & Ladder includes smoked turkey and Virginia ham smothered with Monterey Jack cheese. The New York Steamer, inspired by New York delicatessens, combines corned beef brisket and pastrami topped with Provolone. All large Specialty Subs boast a half-pound of meat. Firehouse Subs’ intense flavors result from a unique steaming method, which perfectly complements the natural qualities of the premium meats and cheeses.
