SUICIDE AWARENESS WALK

The Indianapolis Out of the Darkness Walk 2017 will take place Sept. 16 at White River State Park from 12:30–5 p.m. Join hundreds of Hoosiers as they march together to bring awareness to suicide prevention. Find info on tickets and registration at afsp.donordrive.com.

 

145 years of praise

Jones Tabernacle A.M.E Zion Church will celebrate their 145th anniversary on Sept. 17 with a special morning service beginning at 9:30 a.m. Rev. Business, prayer brunch

This Sunday, Sept. 17, from 11 a.m.–2 p.m., the Silver Centre, located at 10202 E. Washington St., 46229, will host an empowering, business-focused Pray Over Your Profit prayer brunch. The event, led by writer Karri Turner, will feature food, mimosas and a prayer session. Each attendee will also leave with a copy of Turner’s book She’s Lit. Church to burn mortgage

Truth Apostolic Church will hold a mortgage burning and building dedication service on Sept. 17 at 4:30 p.m. The evening will feature music by Quinton Elliott and Yet Praise and a sermon from Pastor Donald Edwards of Church of Glory. Truth Apostolic, located at 1241 E. 54th St., is pastored by Pastor C. Dewayne Bullock and first lady Kisha Bullock. 

 

Christmas Cantata

On Sept. 27, the Christmas Cantata nationwide tour comes to the Murat Theatre at Old National Centre. Paint & canvas

Our Truth in Colors, held at East Tenth United Methodist Church, 2327 E. 10th St., 46201, on Sept. 29 from 6-9 p.m., is a paint and canvas opportunity for friends, neighbors and family to come together and tell their story on canvas. Admission to the gathering is $15 and includes a canvas, paint, food and drinks. The following week, on Oct. 6, the pieces created will be featured in the art gallery above the church.
