RepuCare, Inc., a healthcare staffing and employer health services provider, announced plans this week to expand its headquarters here, creating up to 82 new jobs by 2015.
The Indianapolis-based company will lease a 4,000 square-foot facility located at 9245 N. Meridian St slated to be operational later this year. As part of the project, RepuCare will purchase new information technology, telecommunications systems and furniture for the headquarters facility.
“RepuCare’s decision to expand its headquarters in our state demonstrates the continued growth and momentum of Indiana’s life sciences industry,” said Governor Mitch Daniels. “Combined with our research universities and nationally recognized business climate, Indiana continues to be the national leader in successful, pro-business models.”
RepuCare has already begun hiring additional healthcare professionals, account management and administrative associates.
“We decided to expand our operations in Indiana because of the growth opportunities for our staffing and on-site healthcare businesses, a business and political climate that facilitates entrepreneurial growth, access to the healthcare and professional talent that we need and employee retention because of the family-friendly, quality of life advantages in Indiana,” said Billie Dragoo, founder and chief executive officer of RepuCare.
Established in 1995, RepuCare provides staffing services to government health plans, hospitals, outpatient clinics and nursing homes, as well as onsite healthcare services to employers.
The company’s notable customers include Managed Health Services, WellPoint, Eli Lilly, Howard County and the cities of Indianapolis and Kokomo.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered RepuCare, Inc. up to $1.23 million in conditional tax credits and up to $75,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans.
These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The city of Indianapolis will support the project through additional incentives at the request of Develop Indy.
“RepuCare is exactly the type of company we want in Indianapolis, one that is dedicated to this community and always working to bring quality jobs to our talented workforce,” said Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard. “RepuCare helped put Indianapolis on the map as a leader in life sciences and health services. I am pleased this woman-owned business chose to expand operations here, and we look forward to their success for years to come.”
In 2011, The Wall Street Journal recognized Indianapolis as a national hub for the life sciences industry and “one of the hottest spots for starting a new business.” Indiana has added more than 8,800 jobs in the life sciences in recent years and today some 825 healthcare, medical and pharmaceutical companies call the Hoosier State home.
