Are you ready to stand before God?

More by this author

Dear friend, the Bible declares that one day you will die and stand face to face with God to be judged. Hebrews 9:27 reads, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

Nothing in your entire life could be more important than being ready for that day, because it will determine whether you will spend eternity in heaven or in hell.

This judgment will be based on a person’s righteousness, which means to be perfect and without sin.

Without God’s righteousness, you go to hell. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:9, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?” If you’re not going to heaven, that leaves one other place. Psalm 9:17 says, “The wicked shall be turned into hell…”

You cannot work for it. Titus 3:5 says, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…” If you could earn the righteousness of God, then Jesus Christ would not have had to die on the cross.

DearĀ friend, you cannot earn the righteousness of God by good deeds, church membership, sacraments, baptism, or anything that you do. If you do something for it, then it is self-righteousness.

Faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to get God’s righteousness. Faith, is a complete trust or dependency upon someone. The Bible says that Jesus Christ died to pay for your sins and purchase the righteousness of God for you. You must stop trying to earn it; instead, place your complete faith in Jesus Christ to receive it (Romans 4:5 and Philippians 3:9).

Will you trust completely in Jesus Christ to save you? Jesus Christ has already paid for eternal life. You need only to receive it as a gift by putting your faith in him. Romans 6:23 says, “the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” God cannot lie, and he has promised to give you eternal life (Titus 1:2).

Right now, will you believe God’s promise? 1 Timothy 1:15 says, “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners…” Will you stop trusting your righteousness, and put all your faith in Jesus Christ and receive his righteousness? If you will call on Jesus Christ and put all your faith in him, he will save you right now. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Eternity is real, and hell is real. Jesus states in John 12:48, “He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.” You have heard God’s Word. Please receive him today. Psalm 31:1 says, “In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.”

If you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation and eternal life, please pray the following simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

Remember, friend, believe by faith, share the faith, and keep the faith.
