(CNN) — Do not try and tell Kevin Hart that he’s a scene-stealer in his new film, “Think Like A Man.”
Despite the many ribald, laugh-out-loud moments his character has in the movie – which is based on the best-selling relationship guide for women by “Family Feud” host Steve Harvey – Hart insists it was a collaborative effort.
“I was very happy and privileged to work with the actors they cast, which helped to make it a smart movie, a universal movie,” Hart said. “Together, everyone plays a role, and I just happened to have a role that was set up for a lot of laughs. But if you take those actors away, I don’t have those moments.”
“Think Like A Man,” which also stars Michael Ealy, Jerry Ferrara, Gabrielle Union and BET host Terrence J, centers around the love lives of a group of male friends. When the women in their lives start taking a page from Harvey’s self-help book, the men strike back.
“I feel like this appeals to everyone,” Hart said. “It’s told from the male’s point of view, which hasn’t been done in a romantic comedy.”
Hart’s recent concert comedy film “Laugh At My Pain” went over big with audiences, and he says playing clubs still remains his first love. “‘Stand up is the reason why I’m in movies, so I can’t turn my back on that,” he said.
The comic is keeping pretty busy, having landed roles in the movie “The Five-Year Engagement,” a project with Seth Rogen and James Franco, and a co-starring gig as the neighbor on the hit ABC series “Modern Family.” He also has an upcoming comedy tour, and there’s already talk of a possible sequel for “Think Like A Man.”
“I’ve got no complaints,” Hart said. “I’m blessed and working.”
