Indianapolis, Ind. and Columbus, Oh. — Franklin University, a four-year, non-profit institution of higher education, today announced it has received approval from The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) to open a new site in Indianapolis, Indiana. Franklin University–Indianapolis plans to offer its largest and most popular undergraduate and graduate level programs such as business and accounting, in addition to the master’s in business administration program at the Indianapolis location beginning in the fall term.
“Receiving HLC approval puts us that much closer to being able to provide central Indiana residents one more option when it comes to higher education,” said Dr. David Decker, president of Franklin University. “For more than 100 years we have recognized the importance of accessibility, affordability and flexibility for the adult student, and we’re excited to be bringing those opportunities to Indianapolis.”
The university announced last month a lease had been signed for a 20,000 square-foot space in the Allison Pointe Office Park on the northeast side of Indianapolis. The Castleton-area location will house numerous classrooms, a learning resource center, computer lab, wireless connectivity and quick-use student kiosks — resources that currently are available at all other Franklin University locations in Ohio. The University has been granted “fully accredited” status with Indiana’s Commission on Proprietary Education and is in the final stages of program authorization with the agency.
