After hearing several positive comments from longtime customers of Napoli’s Pizza, I recently found a moment to visit myself. I was not disappointed.
Located at 3475 Shadeland Avenue on the city’s Eastside, Napolis was opened in 1992 by cousins Henry and Manny Lanoire. After immigrating from Peru during the 1980s, their family opened successful restaurants located downtown and in Columbus.
The Lenoire’s decided to fill a void for homestyle pizza shops left by intense competition from national pizza delivery companies.
“We believe it is important to provide a good experience and quality service,” Manny Lanoire told me. “We have a consistent commitment to our customer base and we work hard to make them happy.”
Part of that commitment involves offering guests plenty of satisfying options.
Pizzas are available by the slice, or sizes from regular (14 inch) to super large (18 inch). Popular topping choices include deluxe, meat lovers and Hawaiian. All pizzas can be made with the awesome stuffed option.
Sub sandwiches are also available such as the spicy Italian, ham and cheese, roast beef and the All Around Napoli (with turkey, ham and salami.) All subs are served with choice of vegetables and dressing.
For those who prefer calzones, they can choose selections like Stromboli, spinach, Panzorti, ground beef or build their own with up to five toppings.
Pasta lovers will enjoy lasagna, baked ziti, penne and spaghetti, all of which come with fresh garlic bread.
Other side options include different types of breadsticks and salads. Drinks can be purchased in cup, can or two liter form.
Regardless of what you choose, the homestyle flavor and generous portion will motivate you to come back for your next lunch or dinner.
“We absolutely believe in our motto, ‘If it’s not made from scratch, it’s just not right,'” Lanoire said.
Napolis is also a pleasant place to eat. The restaurant itself is designed like a traditional diner, with comfortable seating and a relaxed atmosphere.
In a single visit, I noticed several customers who stopped by and exchanged jokes and updates with the owners in an act of familiarity that comes only from repeat customers.
Indeed, when you visit Napolis, you will leave with not only a good meal, but also the feeling that the owners truly appreciate your business.
