As a business owner, it’s easy to get stuck in a cycle of reacting to problems instead of building proactively.
That’s why I created and taught the P.L.A.N. framework during my March workshop — to help entrepreneurs lead their business with clarity, strategy, and intention. Whether you’re planning your week, month or quarter, these four steps will shift how you work and make decisions.
Here’s how to P.L.A.N. like a leader:
P – Prioritize Your Focus: Most entrepreneurs try to chase too many goals at once, which leads to burnout and confusion. Instead, choose one to three clear outcomes for the month. Ask yourself: What would move the needle in your business right now? What result would make the biggest impact? Focus builds momentum. Clarity creates traction.
L – List Aligned Actions: Now that you know what matters, break it down. What are the specific, aligned actions that will move you toward those goals? For example, if you want to increase sales, aligned actions might include updating your email funnel, hosting a live training, or reaching out to past clients. Your actions should reflect your actual goals — not just keep you busy.
A – Assign Time Blocks: This is the step where planning becomes execution. Take those actions and assign them to your actual calendar. Block out time for CEO-level work, not just day-to-day tasks. Too many business owners know what to do but fail to create time to do it. Protect your priorities by giving them time and space to happen.
N – Name Your Support: Success doesn’t happen in isolation. What systems, habits, or people will help you stay on track? That could be a virtual assistant, a supportive partner, accountability check-ins, or an automation tool. Maybe it’s a habit like reviewing your goals every Monday. Identify and name what will keep you moving forward without burning out.
This framework is powerful because it simplifies your planning process while giving you a roadmap you can actually follow. The business owners who attended the workshop walked away with more direction, confidence, and a plan they were ready to execute.
Planning ahead isn’t just about getting organized — it’s about staying aligned with what actually matters in your business. It’s how you move from being busy to being intentional.
