Indy DPW/AFSCME Local #725 crews are on standby to monitor and treat local roads as necessary. Indianapolis Fleet Services is ensuring that they are properly staffed to keep road obstructions to a minimum due to the harsh weather conditions.

Indy DPW crews have been on 12-hour shifts since Friday, Nov. 28 and will continue to do so at least through the weekend.

With all the winter weather ahead, events such as the Big Ten Championship football game will have many Hoosiers and visitors alike traveling throughout the city.

Indy DPW asks motorists to drive with caution and practice safe driving habits when winter weather hits our roadways, even after the snowfall ends. Crews are planning to plow the city’s key greenways, trails and Indy Parks walking paths.

While the winter weather persists, Indianapolis residents are responsible for clearing the area around their mailboxes and the sidewalks in front of their residence, business, or property.

For more information, visit Indy.gov/snow. See snow-clearing efforts on the Indy Snow Force Viewer. Indy DPW will provide updates on social media throughout this snow event.
