I was in such a starving frenzy last week while driving through Broad Ripple that I picked the first thing I laid my eyes on. In this case it happened to be Poccadio Moroccan Grill & Sandwiches. Poccadio is a Moroccan word for āFast Fresh Foodā and refers to mostly sandwiches.
I was a tad⦠no really skeptical about trying this place, because I know zero about Moroccan food. But those who know me know Iām very open when it comes to trying new food. I walked in curious and left overly satisfied.
Once I strolled in I immediately noticed the huge menu in front of me. I also quickly realized I was unfamiliar with more than 50 percent of the items on display before me. Because I had no clue what to choose and it was my first time at Poccadio, the waitress explained the menu, while reaching for a plate and placing various selections on it. There was enough on the plate for that to be my meal. It was incredibly helpful.
The options were endless, and it took me an extra five minutes to finally settle on something. My sample plate consisted of small portions of about four different meats, six sides and various sauces. I tried it all and took double bites to see where my taste buds would guide me.
I ended up choosing the āplate optionā of lamb, broccoli, roasted red potatoes, and grilled vegetable medley for $13.08. Poccadio is generous with its portions. My plate looked like it does during Thanksgiving ā overwhelmed with delicious food. It was a bit on the pricey side, but I had enough food for two whole meals.
The chef, Anass Sentissi, certainly knows what he is doing. My red roasted potatoes were filled with spices and were enticing. The grilled vegetable medley normally comes with zucchini, onions and mushrooms, but I chose just the onions. It was a sloppy mixture of goodness. Every selection stood out, and complimented one another.
The dĆ©cor is peaceful. Poccadio certainly focused on Middle-Eastern vibe and pulled it off well. The place is about medium sized–not too big or small. The rich colors of purple, red and yellow jump out at you. Some unique, beautiful colorful lighting fixtures hung from the ceiling. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly.
There is also ample amount of parking by Poccadio, which is good when it comes to Broad Ripple. I definitely agree with the dining spotās saying, āWhen you try it, you will love it.ā I will definitely be back for more.
