Tastings fundraiser
On Sunday, March 1 at 6 p.m., an event will be held at Tastings on 50 West Washington St. at the Conrad Hotel. Admission is free and open to the public. All proceeds will go towards the Cynthia Layne Memorial Fund, which is dedicated to her daughterās college education. Music will be provided by Layneās bandmates, well-known Naptown musicians Reggie Bishop & Rob Dixon. For more information about the hotel, call (317) 713-5000.
Gospel Jazz Tribute
Owl Music Group, which produced Layneās CDs, will have a Gospel Jazz Experience fundraiser Thursday, March 12, from 7-10 p.m. located at Latitude 360, 4016 East 82 St. Admission is $15. Kenny Phelps, CEO of Owl Studios, said that he has known Layne since 1994. Phelps stated that Layne became a top selling artist on the Owl label by creating music that connected with the audience.
