Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF), in partnership with WFYI Public Media, is launching a new monthly podcast, “For Good,” featuring stories about passion, purpose and progress central Indiana. “For Good” focuses on issues facing Marion and Hamilton counties and highlights local people and organizations working to make a change.
CICF’s partnerships with not-for-profit organizations and donors gives the foundation unique insight into the progress and challenges facing the community. That deep community knowledge, paired with WFYI’s production expertise, fuels each monthly episode of “For Good.”
In its first episode, which debuted on July 25, “For Good” examined how limited access to transportation impacts opportunities for employment, health care and social services. It also featured conversations with civic leaders about what’s being done in central Indiana to revolutionize the way people get from place to place.
The second episode of “For Good” debuted this week and focuses on food insecurity, a real and pressing issue for rural, suburban and urban communities in central Indiana. In this episode, “For Good” explores how the contours of food insecurity can shift based on geography or demographics, and how these factors impact a community’s ability to solve the problem.
New episodes of “For Good” launch in CICF’s newsletter on the fourth Tuesday of every month alongside other community stories and foundation updates. To subscribe, listeners can visit cicf.org or search for “CICF” in your favorite podcast app.
