After more than four decades serving Indianapolis, Ale Emporium is taking its famous Hermanaki Wings west.
The prized sports bar and restaurant opens its fourth location March 9 at 7510 Beechwood Road in Avon, marking the establishment’s first entry into Hendricks County.
The 12,000-square-foot restaurant follows the successful model of Ale Emporium’s Fishers and Greenwood locations, delivering both family dining areas and a 21-and-over bar. A covered patio provides additional seating when weather permits. At the same time, a separate, dedicated carryout space ensures convenient pickup for the takeout crowd.
“For years people have told us they drive across town just for Hermanaki wings,” co-owner of Ale Emporium Scott Baun said. “Opening in Avon lets us bring Ale Emporium closer to a lot of those guests. Hendricks County has a great local energy, and we’re excited to become part of the community and give people a place to watch games, listen to live music and hang out with friends and family.”
The expansion brings several key features to Avon diners. A 136-inch LED screen will tower above a stage designated for live musicians, while more than 100 televisions throughout the establishment ensure no seat is a bad seat for game-watching. Beer enthusiasts will find 36 taps featuring a rotating selection of local, domestic and imported brews.
The menu, of course, features the offerings that have made Ale Emporium an Indianapolis institution since it first opened in Castleton in 1982. Hermanaki Wings ā grilled and finished with the restaurant’s signature sweet and spicy sauce ā remain the undisputed headliner, joined by Honest Pizza and a full roster of sports bar classics.
The new location represents a collaborative effort among Theory Interior Design, Curran Architecture, Mill Creek Engineering, Technology Interiors and Allen Commercial Group, which served as the project’s general contractor.
