Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield bolstered its commitment to community health in Indianapolis with a $100,000 donation to Gennesaret Free Clinics, a nonprofit providing free medical and dental care to underserved residents.
The financial contribution, announced on Jan. 27, is aimed at expanding the clinic networkās capacity to serve uninsured and underinsured patients who often face intersecting challenges such as chronic disease, housing instability, and food insecurity.
āAnthem is proud to support Gennesaret Free Clinics and the critical role it plays in caring for some of our most vulnerable neighbors,ā Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shieldās Medicaid President of Indiana Lynn Scott said. āThis investment reflects our commitment to community health improvement.ā
To mark the contribution, Anthem associates volunteered at the Gennesaret clinic located inside the St. Vincent de Paul facility on the cityās near north side. Volunteers assembled hundreds of hygiene kits for men and women to be distributed to patients and toured the facility to better understand its integrated care model.

Gennesaret operates multiple clinics throughout the city, often co-located within food pantries and social service hubs.
This model allows patients to access healthcare and essential life resources in a single, low-barrier location.
āThis partnership allows us to expand our reach and better meet the growing needs of our community,ā executive director of Gennesaret Free Clinics Milele Kennedy said. āAnthemās support helps ensure that more individuals and families can receive compassionate, high-quality care without financial barriers.ā
The $100,000 grant is designated for capacity-building efforts, directly funding expanded clinical services and operational support.
