On December 1, 2015, #GivingTuesday, the Kheprw Institute (KI) is launching its annual Saving Lives fundraising campaign. The goal of the campaign, which ends December 31, is to raise $10,000 to support the organization’s youth development initiatives. Focusing on STEAM, urban agriculture, aquaponics, videography, coding, web design and community engagement through public forums, KI prepares youth for the challenges of today and tomorrow.
KI serves urban youth with an emphasis on providing young Black males with the support and encouragement they need to grow and develop into positive, productive, empowered individuals. Given the disparities they face in education, employment, incarceration and mortality, all of which diminish their life chances, KI sees the emphasis on support as critical to helping to save the lives of young Black males and provide them with positive life experiences and opportunities.
This year’s annual Saving Lives fundraising campaign will feature short stories on our oldest youth intern Rasul Palmer. Each week of the campaign, we’ll share a different episode. To learn more about the campaign and help us save the lives of urban youth, visit SavingLives.kheprw.org.
