An apple a dayā¦
Two new studies have found that apples, specifically the fiber in them, are indeed good for you. One study, conducted at the University of Illinois at Champagne, found that the fiber in the fruit reduces inflammation from obesity related diseases and boosts the immune system. A second study, from researchers at the Technical University of Denmarkās National Food Institute, found that the fruit fiber promotes growth of āfriendly bacteriaā that keeps the gastro-intestinal system healthy if consumed over the long-term. Previous research has found that apples are high in antioxidants, may reduce the risk of cancer and heart disease, and can improve cognition and memory.
