Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark will miss the final three games of the 2025 WNBA season due to injury, the team announced on Sept. 4.
The two-time All-Star and 2024 Rookie of the Year has been out since July 15. Clark suffered a right groin injury during a win over the Connecticut Sun. Clark later sustained a bone bruise during her recovery process.
Clark shared her feelings about missing the rest of the season via social media.
“I had hoped to share a better update, but I will not be returning to play this season,” Clark said on X/Twitter. “I want to thank everyone who had my back through all the uncertainty. This has been incredibly frustrating, but even in the bad, there is good. The way the fans continued to show up for me, and for the Fever, brought me so much joy and important perspective.”
Fever’s Chief Operating Officer and gGeneral mManager Amber Cox said the decision puts Clark’s long-term well-being first.
“Time is not on our side,” Cox said. “Her long-term health and well-being remains our top priority.”

Clark appeared in 13 games this season, averaging 16.5 points and 8.8 assists.
The team expects Clark to return at full strength for the 2026 season.Ā
