The groundbreaking ceremony to kick off the infrastructure construction project for Lawrence Village at the Fort will be held on Tuesday, May 5 at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will be held at the intersection of Wheeler Road and Otis Avenue at Fort Benjamin Harrison.
The $9,000,000 construction project includes new streets, landscaping, lighting, three parks, signage, rain gardens, raised median planters, entrance columns and installation of all underground utilities. Over 350 trees will be planted lining new streets which include bike lanes, sidewalks, and on-street parking. The project sets the stage for the development of Lawrence Village at the Fort, a master planned, sustainable, mixed use community which will include residential, commercial and retail offerings. Nearly 55 acres are available for purchase within the Village. Site plans and parcels maps are available upon request.
Poindexter Excavating was awarded the contract for General Contractor and Meyer Najem will serve as Owner’s Technical Rep. Construction will commence by the first of May. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of November 2009.
