2017 MARC Conference 

The Midwest Annual Reformation Conference with the theme “Last Things — A View of Revelations” will convene at New Life Community Church Oct. 13–15. Services begin Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. Services and workshops on Oct. 14 begin at 9 a.m., and lunch will be included. The conference’s final day starts at 9 a.m. All services will be held at New Life Community Church, 1500 W. 86th St., in Indianapolis. Registration for the conference is free. Three nationally renowned speakers have been invited to share their knowledge of the Word of God: Pastor Victor Sholar, of Main Street Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky; Rev. Ken Jones, of Glendale Missionary Baptist Church in Miami; and Dr. Jarvis Williams, associate professor of New Testament Interpretation at Southern Seminary in Louisville.

 

‘Positioned To Prosper’ 

On Oct. 14 from 1–4 p.m., Authentic Identity Institute will hold an authors open house at Indiana Wesleyan University, 3777 Priority Way S., in Indianapolis. Positioned to Prosper is a book collaboratively written by 12 men and women who have answered the call to share their testimonies, encouragement and love with the world. Guests can visit with and have their books signed by all 12 authors. There is no fee or requirement to purchase the books. Blessing Of The Animals

Faith Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis will hold its yearly Blessing of the Animals event on Oct. 8 from 5–6 p.m. at 8710 Hague Road. The event honors the relationships we share with our pets, names our companions and encourages us to care for those who share our homes and hearts. The ceremony includes readings, prayer and individual blessings for pets in attendance. Following, pets and owners are invited to mingle and enjoy snacks. Tickets are limited to 50 pets. Humans may bring companions, bring photos of pets who prefer to stay home or just come to be part of the blessing. For safety, all pets should be on a leash or in a crate. Humans may bring seating if they would like. Prayers will begin at 5 p.m. on the west lawn of the church. Attendees are free to come and go as they or their companions require.
