Lt. Governor Becky Skillman, the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, and the Indiana Small Business Development Center Network are pleased to announce they will once again host the Advancing Hoosier Women in Business seminar series during summer 2009. This popular event will be held in four locations: Columbus, Valparaiso, Huntington, and Evansville.
āHoosiers must continue to develop innovative businesses in order for our state to remain competitive in the global marketplace,ā said Lt. Governor Becky Skillman. āThis series is a great chance for women who are interested in starting or growing a business to gather information and share ideas with their peers through resource panels, speakers, and networking opportunities.ā
Each seminar will provide Hoosier businesswomen with technical and educational resources. Success stories of how rural women have launched entrepreneurial careers will be featured. Attendees can look forward to panel discussions, Lt. Governor Skillmanās keynote address and other notable speakers.
The registration fee for each one-day seminar is $20.00 per person and lunch is included. Each event will be held from 10:00 a.m. ā 2:00 p.m. local time, with the exception of the Evansville event, which will be held from 10:00 a.m. ā 3:00 p.m. Dates are as follows: Columbus, June 18; Valparaiso, June 30; Huntington, July 7; and Evansville, July 23.
