Survivors of heart disease and stroke will gather Saturday at Victory Field for the American Heart Association’s 34th annual Indianapolis Heart Walk. The Heart Walk is the Association’s largest event of the year and is expected to raise more than $600,000 to help people live longer, healthier lives.
Gates open at 8 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m. Walkers can choose between a 1-mile or a 3-mile route.
Among the many free activities Saturday are the opportunity to join the Nation of Lifesavers by learning Hands-Only CPR, blood pressure and cholesterol screenings, flu shots and a kids zone with games, face painting and more.
Participation in the Heart Walk is free, however, participants are encouraged to register and fundraise at www.indyheartwalk.org.
