Sandi Montgomery, the daughter of internationally famed guitarist Wes Montgomery, presented Greene with the award for his ā€œremarkable contributions to the city of Indianapolis and its jazz scene.ā€

Organizer Steve Barnett said, ā€œOne of the things that blew me away about Indianapolis is we wait until our musicians die and then we want to honor them. I wanted to give him his roses while he’s still living and it finally came together.ā€

All proceeds benefit Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic’s Veterans Justice Program, which provides no-cost legal services to veterans, including those who are currently homeless or at risk of facing eviction.
