Remembering Motown Monday
Original Motown Monday host Vicki Buchanan returns for a WTLC 50th anniversary party 6-11 p.m. June 9 at Quincy’s, 2544 Executive Drive.
The party will feature DJ Smoove, Larry Jackson, Demorris “Dee Gee” Smith, Gary “Earth, Wind &” Flowers, Courtney Summers.

Jazz at The Point
Spend Friday nights at The Point for its Summer Jazz Series, Jazz on the Patio, 7-11 p.m. twice a month on Fridays at 3344 N. Arlington Ave. Calibration will perform on June 8. A small donation is accepted at the door.

Strawberries galore
Christ Church Cathedral will have the 53rd annual Strawberry Festival June 14 on Monument Circle. The festival begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 4 p.m. or when the food runs out. Entertainment begins at 10 a.m. The Works, shortcake, strawberries, ice cream and whipped topping is $7. Items can be purchased individually for $2. Cash only is accepted.
Down home blues
Bring your tent, chairs, family and friends to hear 69 Ways & Chocolate perform during Blues in the Park at Watkins Park. The event begins at 5 p.m. Blues and Jazz in the Park is part of the concert series, which runs through September, at Watkins Park.
Girl down
Big Freedia, aka the Queen Diva, will perform at 8 p.m. June 8 at the Pavilion at Pan Am, 201 S. Capitol Ave. Big Freedia, a pioneer of New Orleans bounce music, will bring her high-energetic music for a bounce, twerk and shake session. This event is for ages 21 and over. Food Truck Fridays happen every 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. every Friday through Aug. 24. Food trucks are parked on Georgia Street between Capitol Avenue and Illinois Street.
Praise in the Parking Lot
Immanuel Presbyterian Church and The Hope of Glory (formerly The House of Joy) will have a Praise in the Parking Lot community event 11 a.m.-4 p.m. June 16 at 3620 E.

Old Soul Entertainment will celebrate R&B music of the 90s and 2000s with TLC, Jodeci and SWV during the ICON party at The Jazz Kitchen, 5377 College Ave. ICON, the DJ Tribute Series, celebrates the musical influences of Old Soul Entertainment.
