International Medical Group (IMG), a global insurance and assistance service provider, launched its inaugural Student Journey Scholarship program.
The initiative aims to financially support international students pursuing higher education in the U.S.
The company will award one $5,000 scholarship per academic semester (Fall and Spring). The first scholarship cycle, for the Spring 2026 semester, is now open. Applications will be accepted from July 1 through Sept. 30.
Applicants must submit either a 500-word essay or a three-minute video detailing their journey to studying in the U.S. and explaining how their American education will help them achieve their future goals, both personal and professional.
Chief commercial officer of IMG Justin Poehler, highlighted the company’s history with the student demographic and the scholarship’s expanded purpose.
“IMG has been a trusted partner to international students for decades, providing health insurance plans that meet their needs while studying in the U.S.,” Poehler said. “With the launch of the Student Journey Scholarship, we’re expanding our support beyond medical coverage to help students manage the financial challenges of studying abroad, and we are looking forward to investing in their success during this important chapter of their lives.”
IMG, headquartered in Indianapolis, is known for its international insurance benefits and assistance services. The new scholarship program represents a significant extension of its support for the international student community within the U.S.
The winner of the Spring 2026 scholarship will be announced on Nov. 3. Interested students can find application details and submit their entries at the company’s dedicated scholarship at imglobal.com/student-journey-scholarship.
