In honor of Black History Month, Pacers Sports & Entertainment (PS&E) is transforming Gainbridge Fieldhouse into a hub of unique activations and exhibits.
Chief executive officer of PS&E Mel Raines said the organization is eager to celebrate Black History Month.
“Weāre honored to continue to use our platform to celebrate Black History Month through special activations at Gainbridge FieldhouseāÆand Pacers home games,” Raines said in a statement.
Some of the Black History Month celebrations include trivia in the main concourse of the fieldhouse, collaborations with local artists of color, travelling exhibits and honoring those making an impact during halftime of home games.
The Pacers celebrated Black Onyx Management, a Black-owned management firm based in Indianapolis, during the game against the Atlanta Hawks on Feb. 1.
Mirror Indyās ātraveling storyā visits the fieldhouse for Pacers games on Feb. 23-24, Feb. 26 and the Lil Wayne concert on Feb. 27. The exhibit investigates the history of Greenlawn Cemetery, where some of the city’s earliest Black residents are buried.
Raines said the organization highlights “Black leaders, businesses, artists, chefs and stories that have helped shape our community.”
The Pacers team store inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse carries Black History Month NBA apparel all month long.
