Republic Airways has developed a new training facility in Carmel that serves as a one-stop-shop for aspiring airline associates in a variety of fields. This new purpose-built campus serves as a hub to facilitate in-depth, hands-on experience in airline professions. This facility trains pilots, maintenance workers and flight attendants in an open environment that encourages its trainees to be knowledgeable about the numerous systems involving airline operations.

“This facility was truly purpose-built to not only service our associates, but to serve our co-share partners in American, Delta and United,” said Corporate Communications Member Joseph Fleagle.

The campus features many open-floor layouts that provide trainees with an opportunity to collaborate with associates from different fields to enhance their knowledge of airline operations.

Pilots in training at this facility utilize cutting edge simulations, allowing them to become acquainted with various airplane systems, onboarding procedures and structures. Structural knowledge of the plane and the passengers’ experience overall is important for aspiring pilots.

“We wanted to bring everyone together and consolidate them so we can have those unique interactions with one another,” said Corporate Communications Member Joseph Fleagle.

Virtual reality (VR) technologies are used to educate pilots, flight attendants and maintenance staff on how to carry out their respective duties before having to do so in an actual populated flight. Stations are equipped with the latest VR tech to be able to comprehensively experience the numerous scenarios trainees are expected to deal with.

A cafeteria and workout area are also among the many amenities available at this training center.  For associates looking to stretch their legs, this new campus even features various outdoor areas including an outside basketball court.

Republic Airways plays host to their own Leadership in Flight Training (LIFT) Academy program for aspiring commercial airline pilots. Republic Airways created the LIFT Academy program to provide aviators with the skills they need to succeed and a defined pathway to a career at Republic Airways. The LIFT Academy has 5 different campuses that are equipped with more than 75 diamond aircrafts.

Republic Airways was founded in 1974 in Carmel, IN. Mesa Airlines and Republic Airways combined operations which now maintain a fleet of more than 300 Embraer 170/175 aircrafts. They also offer passenger service with 1300 daily flights to cities across the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico. Republic provides fixed-fee flights operated under their major airline partner brands such as American Eagle, Delta Connection, and United Express.
