
Simon Youth Foundation (SYF) celebrates its historic 25th anniversary by welcoming over 100 guests. Attendees included community leaders, dignitaries, superintendents, business partners, SYF students, alumni and academy teachers.
SYF was recently inducted into the Indiana Historical Society. SYFās mission believes that all youth, no matter their personal circumstances, should have the opportunity to pursue their dreams through education. Since its inception, SYF has graduated over 26,000 students. Based in 16 states across the U.S., SYF has 40 academies, which partner with 29 school districts. SYF has invested over $21 million in scholarships to nearly 6,000 students. These students have gone on to attend over 500 different colleges and universities in 32 states. In addition, SYF has invested $1.2 million in capacity building grants to support SYF educatorsā professional development and continuing education.
SYF made history in 2021 when hiring the first woman and person of color to lead the Foundation, Andrea L. Neely, who works in partnership with the board of directors chaired by founding member Deborah J. Simon.
