Sacramento Kings forward Trey Lyles, an Indianapolis native, will host a free basketball camp for local youth later this month at his alma mater.
The camp occurs Saturday, June 28 at Arsenal Technical High School, 1500 East Michigan Street.
Lyles, a former standout at Arsenal Tech and the University of Kentucky drafted 12th overall in 2015, continues his annual effort to give back to his hometown through youth engagement at the school.
“I’m happy to continue having this free camp in the city,” Lyles said.
The camp is open to boys and girls ages 10 to 17 with participation limited to 250. Registration runs from 8:30-9:30 a.m., requiring a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Activities run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., including lunch provided between noon and 12:30 p.m.

The event focuses on developing basketball skills and life skills in a “fun, energetic environment,” aiming to inspire young players.
“It’s for and in the community that’s normally overlooked. A great opportunity for kids to see and be around basketball while having fun,” Lyles said. “I wish I had something like this to go to when I was younger. I’m happy I’m able to do this every year. It’s an honor.”
Doors open at 8 a.m.
