Tim’s Bakery: Unforgettable baked goods

More by this author

Some people remember the “good ole’” days when you could walk (not drive) down the street to the neighborhood bakery, encounter friendly employees, who know you by name, and go home with a box full of fresh, warm treats.

Patrons can enjoy this kind of experience when they visit Tim’s Bakery, located in McCordsville, a town located directly east of Marion County, right outside Lawrence.

Typically, many Eastside residents drive west or south across town to go to well-known bakeries that offer homestyle goods.

Tim’s, however, is being discovered by more people moving and conducting business on the “Far Eastside.” The bakery has also become a popular stop for motorists using Pendleton Pike (also known as State Road 67) to get to Anderson, Muncie and Pendleton.

Tim’s Bakery is well known for its amazing variety of donuts, which are made fresh daily and always taste like they have just come out of the oven.

Customers can choose from several different types of donuts, including yeast, cake, butterfly, Bavarian, jelly filled and twist donuts. Other varieties are available, such as nutty buns, cinnamon buns and blueberry and apple fritters.

Anyone who enjoys muffins can find plenty of them, offered in flavors like banana walnut, cranberry apple, cranberry orange, lemon poppy seed and peaches and cream.

Cookies are another popular choice at Tim’s and all of the traditional flavors are on the menu.

Tim’s also has plenty of awesome cakes, and they can be ordered in advance for any special occasion in a size to fit your needs.

Of course, the star of Tim’s Bakery is not any of the fancy or specialty items, but its plain glazed yeast donuts. They are always flavorful, soft and warm – very satisfying.

Tim’s has an inviting, small town feel that is getting harder to find these days, and it is advisable to stop by well before closing time, because they often sell out of some of their best goods.

Whenever you’re venturing east, take a few minutes to stop by Tim’s and get a dozen treats for your family, friends or the office. It’s a safe bet you will be going back.
