More by this author

On the evening of April 26, the police responded to a report of shots fired in the 2400 block of Sheldon Street on the near east side of Indianapolis, and witnessed a man firing a semi-automatic rifle at a passing van.

After a chase, they recovered a rifle with 34 rounds, two bags with what appeared to be cocaine and five bullet casings on the ground. A nearby house had several bullet holes, and two men inside reported being shot at. Another gun and more suspected drugs were found in the house.

Three people were in the van, which was rendered immobile from several bullet holes, including one to its tire. Those in the van reported being caught in the crossfire while driving by, and were shortly released. The two men from the house were taken into custody for questioning after the incident.
