New Life Worship Center ‘Going to new levels’

More by this author

This is the weekend that lovers of gospel music and lovers of the word of God have been waiting for, the 8th Church Anniversary Celebration of New Life Worship Center.

The humble beginnings of New Life Worship Center, 2740 Kessler Blvd. have now blossomed to two sprawling campuses, the Traders Point location on Lafayette Road, and the Central Campus located at 3425 Boulevard. Although New Life Worship Center has thousands of faithful members, it has a small church atmosphere.

“You don’t get the feeling of a mega church, although it is truly a mega church,” stated Terrance Johnson who sometimes visits the mid-week Bible study.

Pastor John F. Ramsey Sr. and First Lady Alicia Ramsey have a ministry focused on the family and relationship-building. The Ramseys understand that the foundation for any success first begins with God, and then the family. This is evident in their teaching. Although this is not a surprise focus for this couple, due to the spiritual parenting of their spiritual parents Pastor I.V. and Dr. Bridgette Hilliard, senior pastors of New Light Christian Center Church, Houston, Texas. New Light has five locations, which started in 1984 with only 23 members. It now hales over 28,000. Pastor Hilliard was also just elevated to the office of Bishop.

“Pastor Ramsey is a rare young man; he is committed to integrity, family and the people of God. He is committed to kingdom building the right way,” said Hilliard.

On August 2, at 6 p.m. only at the Traders Point Campus Pastor Marvin Sapp, known for his vocal talents as a singer, first with Commission and now having a very illustrious solo career with the smash hit “Never Would Have Made It” which is still at the top of the charts, will be preaching.

“If you think that Marvin can sing, wait until you hear him preach, he is a very anointed man of God,” says Al “The Bishop” Hobbs.

On Monday evening at 7 p.m. the anniversary celebration culminates with the presence of the Presiding Prelate of the Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship, Bishop Paul S. Morton Sr.

of Atlanta, by way of New Orleans. Bishop Morton will bring the word on that evening.

All are welcome to come out and celebrate with Pastor John Ramsey Sr. and the New Life worship Center as they take us to new levels.
