Indianapolis native Lady Nicole Green, first lady of Emmaus Christian Church in Lafayette Square Mall, has been named the new co-host of the No. 1 rated show on The Word Network, “Rejoice in the Word.”

“Rejoice in the Word” reaches over 80 million households in more than 200 countries globally, which is making Green into a household name around the world.

She also has been named the new co-host of Rejoice Musical Soul Food’s Rejoice in the Word on the radio. This nationally-syndicated show reaches 44 markets, and has plans of expansion to up to 60 markets by year’s end.

Green is married to Pastor Henzy Green, senior pastor of Emmaus Christian Church.

The Greens also were longtime members of Light of the World Christian Church, where Bishop T.Garrott Benjamin is the senior pastor. Henzy Green was a young minister at the church, when Bishop Benjamin introduced Nicole and Henzy.

Henzy wanted to pick Nicole’s thoughts on issues related to ministry.

“Being fresh out of college with a promising television career getting started, I was on my way to another city to take a job,” she said. “But once Henzy began to show interest, I think he knew we would be married, so I just had to get it straight. We’ve been married now for over 10 years.”

Green is not a stranger to TV. She has hosted and continues to host some local shows – “Living for the City” on WRTV Channel 6 and “Join Our Town” on TBN.

“In a women’s conference, God said to me, ‘By September you will have a national television show,’” Green said.

She made a phone call to Bishop Greg Davis, the host of “Rejoice in the Word,” who invited her to co-host the show at the Gospel Music Workshop of America Convention, where Green serves as the executive assistant to Al “the Bishop” Hobbs, the vice chairman of the board.

Green noted that her 12 years of service to Hobbs has played a major role in opening doors for her in the industry.

“But it is also important to remember that, if you are faithful in service, God will elevate you to rule over much,” she said.

At the end of her first week of co-hosting “Rejoice in the Word,” producers expressed admiration for her on-air talent. Davis told her that she was doing more than co-hosting all week, she was interviewing for the job.

Davis then offered her the coveted co-host job, which Green accepted on the spot.

Walking down the street in Cincinnati handling GMWA convention business, Michael Chandler, the president of Rejoice Musical Soul Food Network, walked up to Green to congratulate her on her new job.

Green was thinking Chandler was referring to the new job at The Word Network, but Chandler was referring to another new job as the host of the nationally-syndicated radio program Rejoice in the Word Radio.

Green knew nothing of this position, until the president of the network informed her of it.

Green hopes to provide a fresh perspective as the first woman co-host of the show.

“There are great things in store for Lady Nicole Green,” said Shaquila Matthews of Indygospel.com. “The Word Network is only the beginning of this promising network career. NBC might be her next destination. Stay tuned to see what’s next for Lady Nicole Green.”
