The Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center (INRC) announced today that it is accepting award nominations for the Neighbor Power Indy Awards program. The three awards are Connecting Community, Building Local Economy and Inspiring Places.
In its fifth year, Neighbor Power Indy is a fast-paced day of interactive resident-led workshops, neighborhood storytelling and recognition. Slated for March 4, 2017 at Marian University, Neighbor Power Indy is co-chaired by Dr. Lisa Harris, CEO of Eskenazi Health and Dr. David Hampton, deputy mayor of neighborhood engagement, City of Indianapolis. The 2017 theme is Healthy Neighborhoods, Healthy City.

The awards, which are given each year, honor those who have accomplished high-quality neighborhood work that represents diverse geography and quality of life concerns. Applicants must demonstrate how the projects and those involved exemplify leadership, collaboration and vision. Ā
Eligible applicants must be groups of individuals, associations, or not-for-profit organizations (such as neighborhood associations, community development corporations, and grassroots organizations.) Projects under consideration must have been completed in Marion County between January 2016 and December 2016. The award application is available at www.inrc.orgĀ and must be submitted to INRC by January 30, 2017.
Award recipients also will receive a monetary award.Ā
