New Civil War exhibit at Conner Prairie
The next generation of the American museum exhibit is taking shape at Conner Prairie Interactive History Park as it opens its 1863 Civil War Journey, a $4.3 million exhibit that portrays the Civil War through the eyes of three main characters, including a former slave, Albert Cheatham.
Scheduled to open June 4, it is believed to be the most aggressive melding of technology with interpreters and authentic staging ever attempted at the museum level. The Civil War Journey is said to be the first exhibit to fully combine technology with the authenticity of interpreters. Holographic images, video, sound, live characters and period-specific sets and buildings work in concert to create an unparalleled experience.
