This story is an inspiring and autobiographical one-woman show about a young mother’s juggling act of trying to achieve her Hollywood dreams while raising a young family.
The comedic drama follows Dee, a devoted wife and mother of three, as she works to put up her play for the seventh time. Despite past creative pursuits that were brought to a screeching halt by unexpected surprises, she is determined not to let any interruptions get in her way again. All of her kids are in school and her baby-birthing days are over. Now is the time!
Drawing inspiration from her everyday experiences, Dee begins casting her show from characters she meets at the grocery store, the downtown bus stop and her local gym. Everything seems to be going according to plan until a new batch of obstacles arises. Now, Dee has to choose between facing her fears with faith or once again taking two steps back from achieving her dreams.
Laugh, cry and be amazed at the honesty with which Dee goes through her journey while discovering the real lesson of faith God was lovingly showing her all along.
The kid-friendly show, written and performed by local playwright Dija Henry and directed by Angela Wilson, was born out of the writer’s own journey, struggles and triumphs of raising a family while pursuing her lifelong dream of being an actress.
Cost is $8 in advance; $10 at the door.
