Are you concerned…
about whether Indianapolis-area girls are getting the tools they need to be successful? Could the girls you know use a little help becoming and staying organized? Would you like to see the girl in your life come up with a business idea and create and develop a functional business plan? Would you like her to be exposed to positive female professionals…or would you just like her to be more confident, more assertive and better able to communicate in all environments?
Then, A Girl’s Gift Inc. is just what she needs! Our ten-week, Saturday program will run from February 27, 2010 through May 8, 2010 (1-4pm) at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church (100 W. 86th Street). Each weekly workshop specifically targets at least one of our purpose areas: Education, Mentorship and Community Service. Each week, the girls will hear from women in different professions, and take part in interactive activities that promote team work, team building, self confidence and self respect. Our program will also match girls with Mentors who will attend our Saturday workshops. Not only will these Mentors share their gifts, but they’ll also help our girls discover their own gifts.
The girls in our program will also plan at least two community service projects, which will be supervised by A Girl’s Gift’s Mentors. The program will culminate in a show-stopping banquet in mid-May. Our girls will have a chance to share what they’ve learned with friends, family and the Indianapolis community. This program is open to girls in 5th through 8th grade (or 10-14 years of age).

ABOUT US
So many pre-teen girls grow up without giving success a chance. They look at the images of polished, professional women on TV and in the community – but never mentally see themselves in the picture. The reason why? Many young girls are never given the chance to consistently be around positive, professional women. The “Girl’s Gift Program” breaks that cycle – giving young girls a chance to meet the heroines of our community. We help girls feel confident about who they are and what they can achieve. We want girls to be able to look into the mirror of success and see their own faces smiling back!
