Fed up with the police

Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

I am a concerned mother that is fed up with the state of Indiana acting like they’re doing something for our Black men and boys all the while, they continue to die in our streets.

I have on too many occasions gone to the police to file charges against a man who terrorizes my family in the worst way but the police have yet to do anything about it.
He has shot at my sons. The police come, they collect the bullets – they know who’s doing these horrible things. This man and his girlfriend have even had children in the car while he is shooting.
He’s pulled guns on my 16-year-old daughter as well as my daughter with whom he has two kids. At the age of three years old, all my grandson can think about is the police and getting locked up. After all of this, (police) still do nothing.
I’m asking is the police doing their job? This man could have shot an innocent bystander on the streets with his uncontrolled shooting. He needs to be stopped before he hurts someone.
This is the last straw for me. I don’t know what else to do to get the police’s attention. But when my child is dead, don’t come to my neighborhood and act like you care so you can show the other side you were doing something for the community.

A crying mother,

Jacqueline Moredock
