The Midnight Spotlight featuring Joyce Licorish & Deaon Smith
Joyce Licorish and Deaon Smith, two of Indy’s most talented vocalists and two
very familiar faces will come together for a one night only performance at
Indy’s Award Winning Community Theatre on the Square.
Joyce is best known locally for her appearance as Effie White in the Midwest production of Dreamgirls in 2006, as writer/producer/director of this past falls production “Birth of Soul” at the historic Madame Walker Theatres and for her multiple appearances in American Cabaret Theatre shows over the past 3+ years.
Deaon Smith also made an appearance in the Midwest production of Dreamgirls as well as “Birth of Soul” and many productions at ACT including MOTOWN, Elton & Stevie, and Solid Gold Soul where he received rave reviews.
This talented duo will take onlookers on a journey from 11:00 p.m. to the
midnight hour through several genres of music from theatrical ballads from Porgy
and Bess and Ragtime to R&B standards by Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Aretha
Franklin and Gladys Knight.
